The holiday season is often thought of as a time to be spent with loved ones. For many people, however the holidays ignite grief or loneliness. Holidays generally represent time spent with friends and family. For people who are grieving, missing loved ones, or suffering from loneliness the holidays may magnify difficult feelings and become isolating.
In the community of Las Cruces, resources and support are available over the break. Staff and students are encouraged to be gentle and kind with themselves and with each other. No one has to suffer in isolation, rather reach out to others for help if you need it. We all need help at some times over the course of our lives.
Below is a link to community resources ranging from behavioral health supports to food assistance. Also, the New Mexico Crisis and Access Line is available 24/7/365 at 1-855-NMCRISIS (662-7474).
Las Cruces Public Schools wishes everyone a peaceful and safe holiday. Care well for yourselves and each other!
