Las Cruces and Doña Ana County –

A Mobile Children’s Museum is coming to Las Cruces that will travel to all parts of the county regularly. We look forward to providing play-based learning to support social-emotional skills and cognitive development. We are asking our community to go to and submit your ideas to name the first Mobile Children’s Museum in Doña Ana County. The contest is open to classes, groups, and individuals (under 18 with parental consent). Go to the website, read the mission and values, and imagine a name or title that reflects these statements. The contest will take place in 3 phases.

Phase 1: The Children’s Museum Committee will collect all name submissions from October 7th – 21st 2020.

Phase 2: The Children’s Museum Committee will choose the top ideas.

Phase 3: Popular vote opens to the public from November 4th – 18th, 2020.

Winner Announced December 10th, 2020

If your idea is selected as the Mobile Children’s Museum’s name, you will win a $100.00 Visa gift card!

The SUCCESS Partnership of Ngage New Mexico is looking to have children, families, and teachers to help name the museum!

The Mobile Children’s Museum Naming Contest will initiate the first push for community-based planning and leveraging our community-based assets. We are excited to see our community come together and formulate what the vision and values mean to them while coming up with a name. In doing this, we can harness the civic pride and uniqueness that Doña Ana County radiates across our state and unearth a name representing our community’s thoughts, ideas, and values.

The idea of bringing a Children’s Museum to our area has been slowly building momentum for the last five years. It came about as a strategy identified by the Early Childhood Education Coalition and the Children’s Museum Committee along with the SUCCESS Partnership’s support organizations to boost educational outcomes in our county. Work has been done behind the scenes in developing partnerships with businesses, nonprofits, and other cross-sector stakeholders. A museum committee facilitated by Ngage New Mexico seeks to develop these partnerships and invite those interested in sharing ideas to join us.
