New Teacher Updates! We are excited to welcome Ms. Victoria Gier to VLA. She is joining us as a second grade teacher. We will be splitting the 2nd grade class this weekend for Wednesday. We also have interviewed for the1st grade and the 4th grade position and we hope to bring on the new teachers in the coming weeks.
10th & 11th Grade PSAT Testing: On Tuesday, October 26 10th grade students have the opportunity to take the PSAT/NMSQT for no cost. Students will take the test at Arrowhead Park, Building 8. Students will need to arrive by 8:30 and will be done around 12:30. 11th-grade students can also take the PSAT/NMSQT for the National Merit Scholarship. There is an $18 charge for 11th-grade students to take this assessment. Even if 11th-grade students take the PSAT/NMSQT this fall they will still be required to take the SAT School Day in April.
K-5 Afterschool Tutoring/Enrichment Program: Ms. Strascina is working to organize an after school tutoring/enrichment program for kinder-5th grade students. An initial survey was sent out last week. Her team is working on scheduling classes both virtually and in person. I am including the link to a short survey regarding the classes your child might be interested in.
