Stephanie began her career in education with LCPS in 2004 after earning a B.S. in Special Education and Elementary Education from NMSU. She also earned an M.A. from NMSU, an Educational Leadership License from Western New Mexico University, and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at NMSU. She loves to hear the excitement of students as they work together during missions at the Challenger Learning Center of Las Cruces. Stephanie is a proud mom and can be found cheering on her 2 children in soccer, basketball, and track in her off time.

Kathleen began her education journey by earning a B.S. in Elementary Education from NMSU in 1995. She then earned an M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Learning Technologies from NMSU in 2005. She achieved National Board Certification in 2017. Her teaching positions include 1st and 5th grade at East Picacho Elementary, 6th grade Science and Language Arts at Vista Middle School, and she is currently serving as Lead Flight Director at Challenger Learning Center of Las Cruces (CLCLC). She loves flying students to "space" at the CLCLC and is delighted to work in a position that allows her to provide STEM experiences to students from Kinder to 12th grade. Kathleen enjoys balancing her work life with family fun and sports of all kinds!

Norm began working at LCPS in 1999 as a science teacher at Vista Middle School.  He liked it so much, he stayed there for 18 years.  In 2017, when a position opened up at the Challenger Learning Center of Las Cruces, he jumped at the chance and has now been working there for five years.  "I get to fly kids to the Moon and Mars each day?  Sign me up!".  Norm has a Bachelor's in Fisheries and Wildlife Science and a Master's in Elementary Education.  When asked what is the best part of his job? Norm replied, "There is nothing better than seeing a student get excited about science and at the CLCLC, that happens every day.".

Jamee attended NMSU for a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1992 and went on to earn a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from NMSU in 2008. Her teaching experience includes working with children in DD Preschool, Head Start, Kindergarten, and 3rd grade. She also served as a Head Start manager in the areas of Health & Nutrition and the Home-Based program. Jamee retired from teaching after 25 years and returned to the education field as an Assistant Flight Director for Challenger Learning Center of Las Cruces. She delights in the opportunity to engage students in STEM activities in a hands-on real-world setting. Jamee also enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially when nature, sports, and games are involved.

Before joining LCPS, Pat was the owner/operator of both Durango Bagel and Campus Bagel here in Las Cruces. After selling the businesses Pat became a substitute teacher in the district teaching at all levels from DD preschool to high school classes. In 2017, Pat joined the Challenger Learning Center of Las Cruces as an Assistant Flight Director where he enjoys sharing the many future STEM careers with the students of LCPS.

Flora Ortega is an educational assistant who has worked with both elementary and secondary students for over 18 years. She is a proud mother of four and recently moved to our beautiful city of Las Cruces from Grants, NM. In Flora’s words, “We never stop learning. This is a whole new learning process for me and I am excited to be part of the Challenger Learning Center of Las Cruces crew. I look forward to learning more about space every day!”

Lorena joined the Challenger team in the 2022-23 school year with experience in the medical industry. As an LCPS graduate, she is thrilled to be working for the district in a professional capacity.
