LCPS Equity Council Bylaws

Welcome to the Las Cruces Public Schools Equity Council webpage! The Equity Council is an advisory group of individuals who represent different segments of the community. The Equity Council is made up of parents, community members, students, and district staff working together to achieve equitable outcomes for all students and families through coordinated efforts. The council serves as an advisory body to the Superintendent, who is responsible for administrative decisions and for providing administrative and policy recommendations to the Board for approval. Specifically, the Equity Council is focused on addressing the needs of the four student groups identified in the Martinez/Yazzie lawsuit which include students with disabilities, Native American students, students who are English Learners and economically disadvantaged students.
