Summer students in Las Cruces Public Schools’ Class of 2023 will participate in commencement exercises Friday, June 30 at Centennial High School. The ceremony will take place inside the gym at 6 p.m. and doors will open at 5.
The event is a coordinated effort by all LCPS high school principals. The welcome address will be given by Centennial’s principal, Susie Hendee; Mayfield High’s principal, Eric Fraass, will deliver the address; Rio Grande Preparatory Institute’s principal, Michelle Ronga, will officially present the class for commencement, and principals will join together for the presentation of diplomas. The evening will be capped off with the traditional turning of the tassel, led by Arrowhead Park Early College High Schools’ principal, Gabby Alaniz. Graduates’ names will be read by Brenda Ballard, Las Cruces High School, Jim Schapekahm, Organ Mountain High School, and Michelle Paz, Las Cruces High.
