Parents, students and educators are invited to attend a series of meet-and-greet events to hear from Las Cruces Public Schools Superintendent Ignacio Ruíz. The interactive meetings will take place between Aug. 24 and September 14 and are open to the public.

“It’s been an exciting and productive first couple of weeks on the job,” said Ruíz. “We have some things to celebrate about our district, and some plans to build on the work that’s been done. I look forward to sharing those plans with our community, and I look forward to hearing firsthand what’s important to them as we move forward.”

The events will start with providing the public an opportunity to write concerns, questions or accolades on an interactive feedback wall. Ruíz will deliver a short recap of his time spent learning and listening throughout LCPS and will discuss strategic planning and his 90 Day Plan for the district. Most of the meet-and-greet sessions will be spent hearing from student groups, parents and community members.

“It’s important that we hear from our students, their families and the communities we serve,” added Ruíz. “We are partners in education and the work can’t happen without honest input.”
