District will continue to monitor winter weather conditions

All classes in Las Cruces Public Schools will start as scheduled on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Buses will also run at their regularly scheduled times.

A cold weather advisory late Monday prompted LCPS administration to delay the start of school by two hours on Tuesday. The preemptive measure was to ensure student safety at bus stops in the early morning hours, when wind-chill temperatures were in the single digits.

District officials will continue to monitor weather conditions through direct contact with the National Weather Service in Santa Teresa.

Parents and staff are reminded to monitor official district communication channels, such as the LCPS website, social media channels and push notifications, for weather updates and information on potential delays throughout this season.
