Las Cruces Public Schools seeks community volunteers to serve on a Budget Survey Committee for the upcoming fiscal year.
The Budget Survey Committee is responsible for reviewing data collected from LCPS’s budget survey to the community. The data will then be presented to the Finance Subcommittee for consideration in October and will be disseminated to stakeholders in November. Data from the survey will be part of the LCPS Budget Town Hall meetings and will ultimately help shape the proposed LCPS budget for the next fiscal year.
The deadline to apply for the committee is 8 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28. Committee members will be randomly selected during a livestreamed drawing at 3:00 p.m. Thursday and will be notified that afternoon by 5 p.m.
The committee consists of a cross-section of community stakeholders to ensure multiple perspectives are considered. A total of 16 people will be selected, including four LCPS parents, four certified staff, four classified staff and four LCPS administrators. Committee members will be required to participate in three meetings at the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex, 505 S Main Street in Las Cruces:
Sept. 2 at 5 p.m.
Sept. 9 at 5 p.m.
Sept. 16 at 5 p.m.
