Las Cruces Public Schools will observe the Juneteenth holiday on Friday, June 19. District offices that operate on summer hours will be closed in recognition of the federal holiday. Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States and is recognized as a federal holiday honoring freedom, history and resilience.
