Feedback

 Las Cruces Public Schools is providing opportunities for feedback and collaboration on certain regulations following policies that are approved by the LCPS Board of Education. 

The Regulation Advisory Committee (RAC) will include student, parent and staff representatives from the elementary, middle and high school communities. Participation on the committee is voluntary. The work done on behalf of the RAC will be collect and evaluate feedback from the community to advise LCPS in the creation of regulation, which outlines specific guidelines and procedures to implement the adopted policy.  

Each RAC will consist of a middle and high school student representative, three parents of current LCPS students (one elementary, one middle and one high school), three school administrators from the elementary, middle and high school levels, three current LCPS educators (teachers, educational assistants or instructional support staff) and two administrative representatives.

According to district officials, not all policies will require the assistance of an advisory committee. To ensure access for all interested stakeholders, advisory members will be limited to serve on one RAC per school year. 

Students, parents and LCPS educators interested in serving on the RAC can submit their contact information using an online form.  Selection of RAC members will be done randomly and in person during a scheduled meeting of the District Advisory Council. The next RAC will be coordinated to review feedback related to policy JBD, Gender Inclusive Schools. The deadline to apply is Feb. 7, in advance of the Feb. 10 meeting of the District Advisory Council.  

Las Cruces Public Schools is committed to providing transparent opportunities for community stakeholders to provide respectful, constructive, and actionable feedback on policies presented for consideration by the LCPS Board of Education. Aside from the RAC, the public is invited to submit feedback online under the Board of Education page on the district website, www.lcps.net, or via email to the elected board member in their district.
