The Las Cruces Space Festival Poster Contest Winner

We have a winner of the 2022 Las Cruces Space Festival Poster Contest! This year's Las Cruces Space Festival Poster Contest was open to all students K-12, with over 400 entries. The theme for the poster contest this year was "Future Careers in Space."

The winner for the 2022 Las Cruces Space Festival Poster Contest is Alice Diaz, a second grade student from Sonoma Elementary School. 

Alice's poster design features a female astronaut in space medically treating different animals from earth with lots of  care and love. 

There was tie for second place for the 2022 Las Cruces Space Festival Poster contest. Second place winners were Emme Young, an 8th grade student from Camino Real Middle School. Emme's poster depicted an astronaut painting earth on a canvas set up on the moon.

Also in 2nd place, Alexander White a senior from Mayfield High School. 

Alexander's poster featured an astronaut from New Mexico with his helmet miring the beautiful Organ Mountains with a spaceship headed for the stars. 

Las Cruces will host the fourth annual Las Cruces Space Festival on April 7 – 10. This will be an incredible opportunity for youth to learn and get excited about space, and for older generations to celebrate the impact that space has in their daily lives. The festival will launch on April 7th and include four-days of fun activities like space-themed movies, aerospace career talks, Challenger Learning Center missions, and vendor fair on the Plaza de Las Cruces.
