YWiC summer camps are part of a research project to increase female interest and participation in computing. The camp is for students who self-identify as females, genderqueer, or non-binary in high school, rising into 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades and will include a stipend ($200) and an opportunity to win technology prizes, plus swag (bags, notepads, pens, etc.). Participants utilize computational thinking through a variety of interactive software tools. These tools show students that computer science is a fun, creative, engaging, and rewarding field and they are more than capable of learning these skills!

NMSU is a nationally ranked Carnegie Foundation research institution with top performing programs and services. We strive for excellence in all areas of teaching and learning, and work to identify best practices for continued success.
