(LAS CRUCES, NM) Burlington Stores, a major off-price retailer, through its partnership with the national non-profit organization, AdoptAClassroom.org, has made a donation to Hermosa Heights Elementary in Las Cruces Public Schools. The gift was made in celebration of its new store, now open in Las Cruces at 2352 East Lohman Avenue.
A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org contacted school administrators and helped to secure the donation for Hermosa Heights, which will provide $5,000 in new supplies for teachers’ classrooms. According to the company, each time Burlington opens a new store, they celebrate by adopting and funding a local school in their store community.
Victoria Franks, principal at Hermosa Heights, says teachers are excited to have funds available to use how they need them in the classroom.
“This kind of support for teachers can impact and support students in an incredibly positive way,” said Franks. “We are grateful to the new Burlington store here in Las Cruces and thank them and AdoptAClassroom.org for their generous donation to our school.”
