​Attention 2023 Graduating Seniors: Applications for LCPS Foundation Scholarships Are Now Open

Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation Scholarships — 31 Scholarships Available

$250- $2,000

The spring semester is here, and that means applications for scholarships are now open for graduating seniors to apply. The LCPS Foundation awards scholarships during the spring semester to seniors from any of the Las Cruces School District's high schools. 

Currently, there are 31 scholarships available in the amount of $250-$2,000. Some scholarships have specific eligibility requirements established by the donors. Seniors must apply for a scholarship at www.lcpsf.smapply.io.

No individual can be awarded more than one scholarship. The Foundation Scholarship committee will meet to review all applications and the recipients will be notified by email. The scholarship awards will be presented to the recipients at their high school's Senior Award Ceremony and will be made out to the institution the student is attending.

  • Review committee will select recipients based on scholarship criteria
  • A student can only receive one scholarship from the LCPS Foundation


2023 SCHOLARSHIPS

» REESE WOODLING MEMORIAL AGRICULTURAL ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP with Anne Woodling and Jerry Humble: $1000 will be awarded to a student who plans to pursue a career in Agriculture and study at NMSU.

» BINNS FOUNDATION EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP: $1500 will be awarded to a student who plans to major in Education at NMSU.

» ANITA L. SABICHI, MD MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP with Felipe Samaniego MD: $2000 will be awarded to a student who plans to major in Music at any NM college or university.

» LEADERSHIP LAS CRUCES LINKING HANDS ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIPS with the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce and the Leadership Las Cruces Class of 2018-19: $500 will be awarded to two students who are participants in the LCPS Project Link and plan to attend a NM college, university or accredited vocational program.

» ARROWHEAD PARK ECHS CHRISTIN SLAUGHTER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: $500 will be awarded to a female student from APECHS who plans to seek a bachelor’s degree in the biological or pre-medical sciences at any NM college or university.

» BSA EAGLE SCOUT SCHOLARSHIP with a consortium of Friends of Scouting: $1000 will be awarded to a student who earned the BSA Eagle Scout Rank from the LCPS District and plans to attend any NM college or university.

» RICK VIRAMONTES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP with the Viramontes Family and Friends: $1000 will be awarded to a student who has taken specific Physical Education courses at OMHS and plans to major in the field of Physical Education and/or Kinesiology at any NM college or university.

» J. PAUL TAYLOR SCHOLARSHIP: $500 will be awarded to a student who plans to major in education at NMSU.

» GREATER LAS CRUCES CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DACC SCHOLARSHIP: $500 will be awarded to a student who plans to attend Doña Ana Community College full time.

» S.A.V.E. SCHOLARSHIP with Picacho Middle School Quilting Assoc.: $1000 will be awarded to a student who plans to attend a NM university, community college or vocational school.

» S.A.V.E. SCHOLARSHIP FOR FORMER PICACHO MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS with the Picacho Middle School Quilting Association: $1000 will be awarded to a student who plans to attend a NM University, community college or vocational school.

» BONNIE BURN EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP with the League of Women Voters of Greater Las Cruces: $1000 will be awarded to a student who plans to major in education at NMSU.

» LCPS FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS SCHOLARSHIP: $1000 will be awarded to a student who plans to attend any NM college, university or vocational school.

» ANA MARIA SAMANIEGO SCHOLARSHIP IN THE ARTS with Dr. Felipe Samaniego MD: $1000 will be awarded to a student who plans to major in the arts at any NM college or university.

» FELIPE SAMANIEGO MD SCHOLARSHIP: $1000 will be awarded to a student who plans to attend any NM college or university.

» SMITH ENGINEERING COMPANY SCHOLARSHIP: $1500 will be awarded to a student who plans on majoring in civil engineering preferably at a NM college or university.

» MESILLA VALLEY AGRICULTURE SCHOLARSHIPS and Mesilla Valley Farmers: $250 will be awarded to both a male and female student who plans to attend NMSU and major in Agriculture.

» BIERI FAMILY BROADCAST JOURNALISM SCHOLARSHIP: $1000 will be awarded to a student who plans to major in Broadcast Journalism at NMSU.

» JED HENDEE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS: $500 will be awarded to two students who plan to attend any NM college or university.

» BRANDON MAYERS CULINARY SCHOLARSHIP: $500 will be awarded to a student who plans to major in Culinary Arts and the Doña Ana Community College.

» TOMBAUGH GALLERY VISUAL & GRAPHIC ARTS SCHOLARSHIP: $500 will be awarded to a student who plans to pursue a career in the Visual or Graphic Arts and attend NMSU or DACC.

» JOHN NORTHCUTT WITH KIWANIS CLUB AND ARTS COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP: $500 will be awarded to a student who enters an arts program at any college or university.

» COVARRUBIAS/APRENDAMOS SCHOLARSHIP: $500 will be awarded to a student who is a first generation college student enrolling at a NM college or university who has displayed commitment to community service and/or school involvement.

» FLOYD “TWISTER” GEERY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: $500 will be awarded to a student pursing a degree in History, Anthropology or Archeology at a NM college or University.

» Additionally, the JIM AND MARY TUCKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS will automatically be awarded (no application necessary) to the student with the highest GPA at OHS, MHS, LCHS and CHS who also participated in at least two varsity sports for $2000 each.
