It was a great day at MacArthur Community School as we celebrated the ribbon cutting event to unveil the new building upgrades at the school. Today we unveiled MacArthur's new administration area, featuring upgraded security and an enhanced health services office. This could not be possible without the support of our community! It was an honor to have Robert Archuleta as a special guest. He is 86 years-old and attended MacArthur Elementary as a student when it opened in 1941. Today he received a brick from the original building.

Dear parents and guardians, several schools at LCPS have gone into a shelter-in-place due to lightning detected within 10 miles of our schools. Upon the occurrence of lightning at dismissal time, students who drive may be released based on principal’s discretion. All bus riders and walkers will be sheltered until the area is deemed safe. If you are picking up your child while a school is sheltering in place due to weather, you may do so at your own risk. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please check in with your child's school for updates. *Please note that buses will be running late today.
