The 25th annual First Day of School Holiday kicked off for students attending White Sands School. The event celebrates education and the importance of community support while having fun. Community sponsors gave out backpacks and school supplies all to help students get ready for their first day of school.

Today, LCPS Superintendent Ignacio Ruiz joined the KFOX14 Morning News team to discuss the excitement of a new school year and some of the initiatives the district will focus on regarding the instructional framework and strategic planning.
