This morning, we discovered a water line break at our school. Crews are working quickly to repair it, but water service could be interrupted throughout the day. We are ready with portable restrooms, bottled water and hand-washing stations.

The Hawk Health Center will be conducting sports physicals on Jan. 22 and Jan. 29 from 5 to 9 p.m. Physicals are open to all LCPS students. Please see the flyer for additional information, including a QR code to schedule an appointment.
LCPS parents, this morning's message about pickup times referred to bus stop pickup. Dismissal times are as scheduled today. We apologize for any confusion.
LCPS remains on a two-hour delay today. Roads are clear and buses are moving. Pickup times and start times are two hours later than usual.
ALERT: Our LCPS website and all school sites are down, and the outage appears to be external. We are working diligently to get it back up and running, but in the meantime please monitor LCPS social media pages for weather-related updates. Parents, we will continue to communicate using email and text message notifications. Thank you in advance for your patience.

Due to inclement weather, Las Cruces Public Schools will begin all classes two hours later than regular start times on Thursday, Jan. 9. Bus schedules will be adjusted accordingly.
District officials have been in communication with the National Weather Service in Santa Teresa throughout the week and will monitor conditions overnight. Parents and staff are reminded to watch official district communication channels for updates.

Las Cruces Public Schools will operate on schedule tomorrow, Jan. 8, with the exception of White Sands School. District officials will continue to monitor the weather overnight and will update families should conditions change.
LCPS administration is closely monitoring this week's winter weather forecast. As of this message, much cooler temperatures and snow are predicted but we are unsure how it could affect the school day.
Should conditions change that require early dismissal, a delayed start to the day, or remote learning, we will update you as soon as possible. Please watch your email, text message notifications and LCPS social media channels for more information as it becomes available.

DETOUR: Motorists on Elks Dr. near the Columbia Elementary construction site are advised of a detour in place, effective Monday, Dec. 16. Please exercise caution, reduce speed and watch for construction traffic in the area. The detour is expected to last through May 7, 2025.

December is a month filled with opportunities to express love, gratitude, kindness — and if you can, help others during a time of need.
As the temperatures drop, many of our very own neighbors in the community struggle to stay warm during the winter season. That is why Las Cruces Public Schools is asking for your support to help spread kindness in the community.
From Dec. 8, through Jan. 8, LCPS will be collecting new or used blankets, coats, gloves, socks, or other warm clothing to help those who need it most.
Please consider making a donation at any of our donation drop boxes located at 505 S. Main St., Suite 249 in Central Office, TLC, Operations, and the Health Services building.
Las Cruces Public Schools will host a Town Hall meeting for Spanish-speaking families to discuss the redistricting plan for LCPS.
The Town Hall meeting will be held tonight, Dec. 5 at the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex, at 5:30 p.m.
The process of redistricting is outlined in Policy JCAA, which gives the Board of Education authority to alter geographic attendance zones based on the opening of new schools or shifts in population.

La reunión se llevará a cabo esta noche, 5 de diciembre, en el Complejo Administrativo Dra. Karen M. Trujillo, a las 5:30 p.m.
