On Friday, Crys Matthews, International Folk Music Awards Song of the Year winner gave a special performance to the students at Mesilla Valley Leadership Academy.
There were many budding poets and songwriters in the audience who clapped and sang along during this Song Writing Workshop funded through Cruces Creatives Community Share network. Congratulations to Alex Guerra, our LCPS student athlete of the week from Organ Mountain High School. Alex is a strong safety for the Knights football team. He has 78 tackles, 3 interceptions, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery.
Coach Sanchez says Alex is a natural leader. Alex credits his father for pushing him to be the best he can be.

Congratulations to Alyssa Sylva, our LCPS student athlete of the week from Organ Mountain High School. Alyssa is on the volleyball team for the Knights. She has 109 kills, 51 blocks/assists and has a serving percentage of 100%.
