HAPPENING TODAY: New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) announced the implementation of a Statewide Student Information System (SIS). To gather valuable insights and feedback, Las Cruces was selected as a key location for a Focus Group session. This will be an excellent opportunity for school and district staff, as well as parents and families, to share their thoughts and experiences. The Focus Group session is scheduled for May 12th in the board room, running from 3:00 PM to 4:50 PM. We plan to dedicate our discussions to specific user groups, particularly focusing on those who utilize Synergy; however, we welcome all interested participants to join. Translation services will be available. Here's an outline of the schedule for the day: **Monday, May 12, 2025 - Las Cruces** - **03:00 PM - 03:50 PM:** Focus Group for School / District Staff - **04:00 PM - 04:50 PM:** Focus Group for Parents / Families Your participation will be invaluable to shaping the future of our educational systems. Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Students submit entries to their representative’s office, and panels of district artists select the winning entries. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol.
