MAYFIELD VARSITY GAME MOVED TO SATURDAY
This Friday, we are expecting inclement weather between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. As a result, a decision has been made to move Friday night's football game between Mayfield High School and West Mesa High School to Saturday, Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. The game will still take place at the Field of Dreams and there is no need to purchase additional tickets.
Please remember the Field of Dreams observes a clear bag policy.

LCPS parents: Because of weather delays during dismissal, several buses are running behind schedule and students will be arriving at their stops later than usual. Thank you in advance for your patience.
The 2024 high school football season at Field of Dreams kicks off tonight at 7pm with a heated rivalry game - Las Cruces Bulldawgs vs. Mayfield Trojans.

We'd like to thank our community partners Los Leones de Mesilla. On Tuesday, they performed 251 eye screenings for students at Hermosa Heights Elementary School and wrote 84 referrals to eye doctors.
Lions Clubs International's vision screening programs help children by identifying potential vision issues and connecting them with eye doctors for further evaluation. Lions Clubs have screened millions of children and have been able to save sight. Go Lions!

In the summer, the Las Cruces Public Schools Safe Routes to school program suffered a setback. On June 17, a storage area at Lynn middle school was broken into and nine bicycles were stolen.
Working quickly with Las Cruces police, our safe routes coordinator, Ashleigh Curry, gathered her team and started searching through social media for any tips or leads on recovering the bikes. After recognizing one of the bikes for sale on Facebook, Ashleigh notified the police, and through a series of quick investigative work, a theft ring was discovered, an arrest was made, and five of the bicycles were recovered, along with two stolen vehicles that were part of a separate investigation.
For their diligent work, Las Cruces Public Schools would like to thank Officer Austin Kane of LCPD and Lieutenant Joy Wiitala. The LCPD unit that investigated and recovered the bikes was the Community Street Crimes Unit, along with the following personnel:
Sgt. Lazarin
Sgt. Campa
Officer Smith
Officer Rodriguez
Officer. Palos
Officer Velasco
Officer Kelley
Officer Kane
Officer Mora
Officer Roybal
Officer Berling
