🌟 Thrive Thursday Spotlight 🌟

This Thrive Thursday, we’re shining the headlights on two behind-the-scenes heroes who keep Las Cruces Public Schools rolling smoothly every day: Ben Serrano and Jean Escobar from our Transportation team.

Together, Ben and Jean are the steady hands on the wheel, coordinating bus routes in partnership with STS New Mexico and managing the LCPS fleet to ensure students and administrators arrive safely and on time. From early morning routes to last-minute adjustments and dozens of field trips, their work is a daily puzzle of logistics, communication, and care for our school community.

Thanks to Ben and Jean, learning doesn’t miss a stop and our district keeps moving forward. 🚍💙

🌟 Thrive Thursday Spotlight 🌟

This week, we are proud to spotlight the Migrant Education Program Team, whose work truly captures the spirit of the season. Each year, their Wish Upon a Star Tree turns generosity into action—spreading joy, and holiday cheer to students and families across our district.

Through the Migrant Education Program, the team serves more than 100 families. This year alone, 303 students from the Migrant Education Program and McKinney-Vento will receive gifts through the Wish Upon a Star initiative. Thanks to the incredible generosity of LCPS employees and our community, this season shines a little brighter and reminds us of the magic that happens when we come together for our students. We are deeply thankful for the collective support that makes moments like these possible. Because of this team, and the community that stands with them, hundreds of students are supported in meaningful ways that extend beyond the classroom. Thank you for making the holidays brighter for so many of our students and families.

🌟 Thrive Thursday Spotlight 🌟

This Thrive Thursday, we’re shining the spotlight on Maria Guerra, LCPS Director of Nutrition Services, and Brian Montoya, Nutrition Services Coordinator, whose leadership and heart keep our school communities nourished far beyond the cafeteria line.

This week, Maria and Brian led an incredible effort to distribute thousands of holiday meal kits, making sure students and families had access to nutritious meals throughout the holiday break. Behind every box was thoughtful planning, long hours, and the teamwork of our dedicated Nutrition Services staff and cafeteria teams, who showed up with care, efficiency, and a deep commitment to our students.

Because of their work, families can focus on rest, connection, and celebration, knowing meals are taken care of. That’s what thriving looks like: compassion in action and service that reaches every table.

Thank you, Maria, Brian, and the entire Nutrition Services team at Las Cruces Public Schools for feeding both bodies and community spirit. 💙🍎
