Time to celebrate some milestones! Today, Commander Jensen flew his 1000th mission. Commander Switzer hit that mark just last month. Commander Guitar has now surpassed 1250 missions and is looking forward to 1500. Help us in congratulating our flight directors for their work with Las Cruces youth. Their mission is to inspire students to pursue STEM related careers.

Centennial High School had reason to beam with pride this December as three of its own cheerleaders represented the Hawks on a national stage. Demetria Gonzalez, Lorena Zamora, and Joaquin Zamora were selected as All American Cheerleaders for 2025 and traveled to Honolulu, Hawaii, to perform in the Pearl Harbor Day Parade on December 7.
The students joined cheerleaders from across the country to honor veterans, commemorate history, and celebrate the spirit of unity that defines the event. Coach Sabrina Zamora accompanied the group, offering guidance and support throughout the unforgettable experience.
This year, Centennial had a total of eight All American Cheerleaders selected, a remarkable accomplishment for the program. While only three were able to attend the parade, the entire Centennial community celebrates their achievement and the dedication it represents.
Congratulations to our standout athletes for carrying the Hawk spirit all the way to Hawaii!

🌟 Thrive Thursday Spotlight 🌟

During this season of giving we’re honored to spotlight our Project Link Homeless Education Program (McKinney Vento) team. This incredible team walks alongside students and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability. From coordinating resources and transportation to providing warm clothing, school supplies, and vital community connections, this team brings light to families who need it most — not just during the holidays, but all year long. The Project Link team is made up of quiet heroes and fierce advocates who meet every situation with compassion and dignity. They work behind the scenes every day to remove barriers so students can stay focused on what matters most: learning. Their compassion reminds us that the true spirit of the season is found in lifting others up and their work truly reflects the heart of LCPS—where every child is seen, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.

Join us in thanking the Project Link team for being the steady source of hope for so many in our LCPS community!

When our programs and community partners work together, amazing things happen for kids!

Our friends at Safe Routes to School teamed up with Southwest Disposal Las Cruces to assemble 178 bikes for 2nd and 3rd grade students in Las Cruces Public Schools who won a writing contest.

Southwest Disposal raised $5,500, and their corporate office generously matched the amount, making it possible to purchase all these bikes! Their hard work, kindness, and generosity are truly inspiring. What an incredible gift to our community.

Safe Routes to School will be giving the bikes to winners of the writing contest next weekend.
