Dear Parents and Families, We are thrilled to announce that this summer, we are partnering once again with NM PED to bring back the Literacy Summer Institute! This program is designed to help Kinder through 8th-grade students strengthen their reading skills through intensive, focused instruction. If you are interested in this opportunity for your child, please visit the Literacy.NM.Gov link on the flyer for more information and to register. Zia parents, This morning, we discovered a water line break at our school. Crews are working quickly to repair it, but water service could be interrupted throughout the day. We are ready with portable restrooms, bottled water and hand-washing stations. We will keep you updated with additional information as it becomes available. Due to inclement weather, Las Cruces Public Schools will begin all classes two hours later than regular start times on Thursday, Jan. 9. Bus schedules will be adjusted accordingly. District officials have been in communication with the National Weather Service in Santa Teresa throughout the week and will monitor conditions overnight. Parents and staff are reminded to watch official district communication channels for updates. Las Cruces Public Schools is on Facebook, Instagram and X. All updates are posted to the district website (www.lcps.net) and through the LCPS smartphone app. La hora de entrada en las Escuelas Públicas de Las Cruces será dos horas más tarde de lo normal el jueves 9 de enero debido al mal clima.
